Understanding Bivigam®
Bivigam® (human interferon gamma-1b) is an intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) therapy used to prevent serious infections in patients with chronic granulomatous disease (CGD), a rare inherited immune disorder. CGD impairs the body’s ability to fight certain bacterial and fungal infections, making patients highly susceptible to recurrent and severe infections.
How Bivigam® Works:
- Prevents serious bacterial and fungal infections in CGD patients.
- Provides essential antibodies to strengthen immune response.
- Supports long-term infection control and improves quality of life.
FDA Approval:
- 2012 – Approved for the treatment of chronic granulomatous disease (CGD)
